Lost enough that I shamelessly texted Lin "I feel sad" & got her to rescue me.
Been feeling meh & underwhelmed since the concert ended Saturday night.
I couldn't process that I just saw Muse live,
At one point in my life I never thought I'd ever see them live,
But there I was, for the second time, in the stadium as they were playing,
& I had no feelings whatsoever.
During their hype songs like SMBH & PiB I even felt bored,
Counting seconds til the song ends & feeling disappointed as the next, hype, overplayed song starts.
I got into Lan's car that night & blurted out "I don't want to listen to Muse, can you play something else",
& I have been exclusively listening to Fall Out Boy since.
Then today I stumbled upon a comment mentioning the dramatic opening of the Simulation Theory tour in 2019.
Curiousity got the best of me & I went searching.
It was amazing.
One video led to another & I found myself here
Moved to tears.
At first I was holding back, but then I thought why should I?
This is what I expect from them.
They have always moved me to tears.
It's almost a guarantee.
& instantly I was sobbing to a video playing on my phone screen.
THIS is what they are capable of,
Not song after song after song like you're going through a Spotify playlist.
I feel justified now,
WOTP tour is lazy.
It could be because this is the first tour post-covid,
It could be their age,
Heck it's completely within their rights to play however they wish on each tour.
But it is also my right to expect this level of showmanship & to feel disappointed that I wasn't honored this experience.
So I hope this will be my closure on the WOTP tour.
It was a great experience regardless,
But now I'm looking forward to them doing better.
