Uncharacteristic read.

I'm reading 50 shades darker (after 50 shades of grey of course) & Christian is getting so icky.
I know it's every women's dream to tame a bad guy,
But in a week?
From BDSM to full on vanilla?
Sounds pretty unrealistic.
But whatever.
I'm reading coz I just wanna know all the fucked up details.
Mrs Robinson especially.
So disturbing urgh.
Anyways,
It's funny actually how Christian & Ana goes all geli-geli & "always" every time they speak,
Yet here I am smiling like an idiot to my phone,
Coz I just emailed my husband that I'm craving for nasi kandar & he gave me the best reply ever.
"OK".

Hospitalisation.

11.40am on a Sunday morning & we've had breakfast,
Baby (& papa) is already on their first nap,
Room cleaned & aired & beddings changed,
& laundry hung under the fierce sun.
All that's left is for me to take a long bath,
But of course we blog first right?
This time last week I was sitting on a narrow bed in the observation ward innocently thinking I'd be going home in at least an hour.
I had a drip hooked on to me that is going down much too slow,
& my mind was on Hilwa at home who was left with my parents.
Soon I'd get the news that Hilwa's temperature has gone up,
& that they want to keep me for the night because I was in the 'critical phase'.
I'm not a doctor, I definitely don't understand the consequences,
But at that point I was so annoyed because I don't have any fever,
My platelet hasn't dipped below 100 (& it never did),
& they actually did an ultrasound on me & saw that my baby was fine.
They even stuck a speculum in (yeap, a male doctor who looks like my brother saw my hoohaa) & found that I just have a small wound on my cervix.
It's not even a cut, just like some skin was grazed, that's all.
So I was majorly annoyed that they were making it out like I was about to bleed a bucket out of my vagina & lose my baby & worse, my own life.
But there was nothing I could do to convince them to let me go.
At least all the fuss I was making resulted in me getting bumped up for a bed in the ward that very night.
Boy am I glad I didn't have to spend the night in observation which was cold as fck & we didn't even get a pillow.
At home Hilwa's temp continued to rise,
& of course she was fussy through the night.
Kesian mama & Abah, had to literally hug her so that she sleeps.
The next day seeing that my platelet was stable & my hct (the pekat-ness of my blood) was good, they discharged me from the dengue ward.
But O&G insisted on monitoring me for another 24 hours because I was still in the 'critical phase' & would bleed out of my vagina if left alone.
Again both my mum & I was literally shouting at the doctor.
Thank god they handed out some leaflets earlier & being the geek that I am, I read it cover to cover.
& I found a clause under patient's rights that I am allowed to refuse any treatment.
I told that to my mum, she gave her ex-student who used to be a doctor there a call,
& he told her there is actually a form I can sign that says I would bear any risks if anything were to happen.
I call it the borang tanggung nasib lol.
So they finally let me go.
After about 33 hours at the hospital & away from Hilwa.
It's definitely something I don't want to experience again (but I would have to when I deliver hurrr but at least there'll be time to prepare both myself & Hilwa for that).
I guess if I'm rajin I'd go into detail of what happened at the hospital,
But not now.
My phone is suddenly so laggy & I really need that bath.
I know I shouldn't be giving out this advice,
But if you caught denggi while being pregnant,
& you're confident your baby's fine,
You're not mysteriously bleeding,
& your platelet isn't dropping too low,
Don't open your big fat mouth & give them too much details.
Or better still, don't go to the hospital.
I would have been so much better if I just skipped my blood test on Sunday & went back to the klinik kesihatan on Monday.
The food at the hospital was so bad I couldn't eat anything even though I was feeling fine.
Imagine how an actual pesakit feels.
When they discharged me my platelet was at its lowest of 101.
The very next day, after getting enough nutrition at home & proper rest with Hilwa by my side,
My platelet shot up to 124.
Goes to show doesn't it?
Pfft.

Hikmah.

I've been down with fever since Tuesday.
Asalnya nak buat bodo je sebab yesterday I was already feeling fine,
Tapi tergerak hati nak read up on denggi during pregnancy & I realised I can't freaking risk this.
So this morning we went to the klinik kesihatan to get my blood tested.
& true enough, confirm denggi.
But the doctor wasn't concerned with my platelet,
She was more concerned that I my blood pressure was low.
& when she asked me about it I don't know why I told her 'I don't know my usual blood pressure'.
Of course I do!
That reading was normal.
I've lost count how many times I've had nurses during blood drives & check ups tell me my blood pressure is low when I feel absolutely fine both before & after.
So the doctor told me to come back with my pink pregnancy check up book.
Happily I went home thinking I'd find it where I always thought I kept it but nope,
It's not there.
I looked everywhere to the point of stars popping in front of my eyes.
Literally.
That's the thing,
I had a bad night because Hilwa refused to settle down,
& had about 4 hours max of sleep, of course interrupted by Hilwa also.
I didn't have anything to eat & at the point of me having my blood pressure checked it was already noon.
I've been at the clinic for 2 hours,
Had my hand poked 3 times because getting blood on the first try is never my forte (my record was 6 times I think? I went home pretty holey).
So I sat on my bed going shit, what do I do?
Do I go back to the clinic empty handed?
Convince the doctor to take my blood pressure again now that I've freshened up & had lunch?
Or do I just ignore it?
I ignored it of course.
I was just so worried about misplacing that book because I would need it to register my second pregnancy soon.
I just couldn't process anything.
& not to mentioned just dead beat.
But now with a clearer head I'm realising that of course everything happens for a reason.
I now know it's missing so I still have time to look for it before having to register my pregnancy.
& well, I guess if it's gone for good I hope with it goes my records of being a gdm patient & no one will remember teehee.
As for tomorrow for my next blood test,
I guess I'll take it as it comes & if I the doctor manages to hunt me down,
I'll just come clean.
Whatever.
I should rest.
